Hi Olivier-
Blogs...yes....lets see. Don't you think some funny pictures would liven this thing up a little? Like you know, little funny things for the viewer to look at while plowing thru the text? Not trying to be critical, just want to give the people what they want. Very entertaining, tho, keep up the good work.

Hi Tina,

I am certainly a newbie when it comes to blogging. I just only noticed your comment.
As for talking about my work I will probably do so but not directly. I often find that doing so to be an exercise I am often very reticent to undertake. The site is not currently live as I have not sent out a mass email as I would rather have a few more entries under my belt before I do so. Once I do please feel free to spread the news. As for propaganda art I am certainly very influenced by it but it remains very much in the background as an internalized influence. Nevertheless, propaganda, devoid of a particular political view point, is the fastest and clearest way to express an idea, an intuition or a philosophy.
Chinese or soviet propaganda are some of the simplest examples of art working for what the state wishes its people to believe, not unlike stained glass windows in a gothic church. As culture becomes more "sophisticated", produced in larger quantity and its spectrum broadens to take on as many subjects and ideas has a society can produce its takes on a more "enlightened" and democratic mantle. But in the end, the concept varies little from its original purpose, that is to convince other of the validity of our ideas, create a cult of personality or share innate creative impulses, homed through experience, personal and public dialogues. You see, this is what happens when I start talking about my work, it starts to sound like those annoying blurbs a curators slaps on museum entrances. I collect those too BTW.

I've been a fan of your work since raul turned me on to it a few months ago... and now he pointed me to your blog. I was sort of curious about the mind behind the images... I don't know if you plan to talk about your work, but I'm certainly interested both in the process and the ideas behind them. Your images remind me of propaganda art and raul tells me you have quite a nice collection.. I'd love to hear more about that and see some images.. Good luck blogging. I've tried several times and have always failed. It's hard to keep it up.
